Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Council (ECSOC) is established in December 2020 as a statutory apex body governed by the full participation of all CSOs operating in Ethiopia. As per Article 85 of the CSOs Proclamation No.1113/2019, the Council aims at ensuring the Civil Society Sector’s transparency and accountability using international principles as well as national values to promote self-governance of the ongoing operation of the CSOs sector. ECSOC has statutory mandates of representing & coordinating the CSOs sector, enacting self-regulation advising the Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) about CSOs registration & administration. Moreover, to fulfill its mandates, ECSOC plays key role such as knowledge production & dissemination, leading advocacy efforts, promoting and protecting the civil society sector and strengthening networking and partnership among and beyond the CSOs sector
Job Summery
Reports to the Membership and Communication Director. The Membership and Communication Officer will assist in building successful and strong brand for the council S/he will also develop and implement innovative and creative approaches to major Membership and Communication campaigns, ensuring that information products are designed and delivered in compliance with ECSOCS objectives and policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure in implementing the up to date strategic, Membership and Communication plan
- Assist in membership management of the council
- Serve as a Membership and Communication liaison to members, media, private sector organizations, and other stakeholders
- Build successful and strong brand for the council
- Take the lead in Members outreach with their full data organizing and preparing talking that points and effectively answers to Members queries when appropriate
- Initiate and maintain collaborations with Members outlets that reflect ECSOC’S principles.
- Write, edit and manage contents on the website, social media and other digital and printed communications which includes but not limited to regular printing materials, e-newsletter, Twitter and Facebook updates, and periodic updates to members via email or other communication means.
- Write, edit, and oversee (ECSOC publication products, including but not limited to articles, newsletters, case studies, press releases, reports, photos, info graphics, success and other stories
- Prepare video productions and documentations
- Monitor the implementation of the Membership & communication strategy and prepare activity reports, Prepare Membership documents such their registration categories, implementation sector, MS Fee payment
- Develop and maintain Membership & communication plans,
- Ensure streamlined and coherent messaging between web-based and non-web content.
- Engage, Manage and standardize ECSOC’s social media and online presence
- Coordinate conferences and manage registrations and exhibition logistics
- Ensure and coordinate dissemination publications and exhibition materials at conferences
- Maintain and keep track of stocks of ECOCs promotional materials
- Assist in developing a strategic partnership with key stakeholders
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for information and knowledge collection and distribution from ECSOC team, members and other stakeholders
- Organize and host webinars and learning events when needed
- Assist and Advice on Membership & communication issues, methods and approaches, and resolve communication problems
- Evaluate and report results and impact of Membership & communication activities
- Any other Membership & communication, related duties as may be assigned by the director

About You
- Minimum 2 years working experience a similar capacity, CSO experience is desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, communication, public relations, or related fields
Competencies
- Certifications in Project management, development leadership, Business Administration international relations, or other related fields are Plus
- Demonstrated Membership & communication experience,
- Demonstrated Membership management skills,
- Documented Resource mobilization and partnership development skills

- Relevant computer software skills (incl. ding, at a minimum, the standard applications in MS
