Job Description

Background

All Gods Children International (AGCI) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, legally registered in Ethiopia since June 2019. AGCI is an orphan care ministry answering God’s call to provide the love and care that every child deserves, and our vision is to empower local leaders to intervene for the millions of children currently living in institutions, creating pathways to faith, family, and independence because no child should be alone. As the world’s leading child advocacy and trauma disruptor organization, we advocate for vulnerable children and family worldwide. Our efforts focus on dismantling trauma, unlocking new futures, and ultimately emptying institutions for good.

In Ethiopia we operate across four key areas: Addis Ababa, Gambella, Tigray, and Oromia. In Addis Ababa, we manage multiple facilities in the Lebu and Jemo areas, with project agreements focused on Child reunification and Family preservation through sponsorship. And in the remained three areas our intervention is mainly on family preservation through sponsorship.

AGCI Ethiopia has 45 permanent staff members, including support personnel, and is committed to enhancing staff well-being and fostering professional development. As part of our commitment to employee wellbeing, we are planning an annual work-life balance training session for our employees. AGCI Ethiopia seeks to engage a qualified resource person to conduct a one-day training session focused on work-life balance with the aim of equipping our staff with practical skills and strategies to manage their work and personal lives effectively, ultimately enhancing their well-being and productivity.

2 Objectives

General Objective 

The general objective of the Work-Life Balance Training is to enhance the overall well-being and productivity of AGCI Ethiopia staff by providing them with effective strategies and tools to manage their work and personal lives.

Specific objectives

  • Enhance Awareness of staff on the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life.
  • Improve staff productivity and performance by equipping participants with practical tools and techniques to enhance their efficiency in both work and personal tasks.
  • Reduce Stress and Burnout by equipping employees with strategies to manage stress effectively and prevent burnout.
  • Foster team spirit through engaging activities that promote collaboration and a sense of community among colleagues.
  • To boost employee morale and job satisfaction by implementing strategies designed to elevate well-being and create a positive work environment.
  • Encourage collaboration and effective communication, developing skills that facilitate open dialogue and teamwork among staff members.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture that promotes staff engagement, collaboration, and professional development.
  • To improve the visibility of the organization’s commitment to staff wellness, ultimately contributing to the success of AGCI’s mission in supporting vulnerable children and families.
  • Encourage Time Management Skills through effective time management techniques to prioritize tasks and manage workloads efficiently.

Scope of Work The selected resource person will:

  • Training need assessment: Conduct need assessment to understand AGCI Ethiopia staff needs and expectation
  • Development of training content: Develop training content on topics like time management, stress management self-care strategies and work life integration skills
  • Design and Deliver Training: Create an interactive program tailored to AGCI Ethiopia staffs.
  • Cascade Activities: Facilitate indoor and outdoor team-building activities to enhance collaboration.
  • Facilitate Discussions: Lead discussions on improving communication and fostering teamwork.
  • Identify Team Strengths: Assess areas for improvement while capitalizing on existing strengths.

Deliverables

The selected resource person will be responsible for the following deliverables:

1. Training Materials:

  • Prepare customized training materials and distribute comprehensive training materials for and resources to all participants during the training

2. Deliver Training session:

  • Prepare and facilitate a comprehensive one-day training session focused on work-life balance.  Conduct both indoor and outdoor team-building activities to enhance collaboration and strengthen team dynamics.

3. Facilitation of Discussions:

  • Lead interactive discussions aimed at improving communication and fostering a collaborative team environment.

4. Morale-Boosting Strategies:

  • Implement effective strategies designed to boost staff morale and cultivate a positive team spirit.

5. Assessment of Strengths:

  • Identify and assess areas for improvement within the team, while highlighting and capitalizing on existing strengths.

6. Feedback Report:

  • Provide a post-training report summarizing participant feedback, key takeaways, and recommendations for future training sessions.

5.Payment Terms and Reporting Conditions

  • The trainer will submit a payment request along with a training summary report upon completion of the training session. Payment will be processed after the delivery of the training and receipt of the report.

About You

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in delivering work-life balance or wellness training, particularly in the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by nonprofit professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English and Amharic (preferred).
  • Valid trade license and Tax Identification Number (TIN).
  • References from previous training engagements are required.
