The Opportunity

The Finance Operation Coordinator ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. Key duties include managing cash forecasting, payroll, statutory compliance, reconciliations, payments, documentation, and vendor accounts. The role also involves supervising and building team capacity, and aligning financial practices with organizational policies and national regulations. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining adequate cash flow, improving processes and systems to ensure timely service delivery.

 

The Individual

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance operations, preferably (not necessarily gained in an NGO or INGO), out of which 3 years on a senior level
  • Experience with SAP systems and Advanced Excel skills
  • Hands-on experience in treasury, disbursement, and operations
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to influence others’ behaviour through effective relationship building; thorough current knowledge and understanding of relevant policies,
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and ability to build team capacity.
  • Good understanding of finance management and accounting
  • Expertise in payroll, compliance, reconciliation, and donor finance.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting.
  • Experience in managing performance of staff.
  • Fluency in English language is essential

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
  • Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
