Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

Data collector/Distributor will be reporting to M&E Coordinator. The data collectors will be responsible to collect quality data by maintaining the different data quality assurance parameters – completeness, consistency, accuracy and timeliness. S/he shall not share the data to anyone other than the assigned data collection coordinator that is delegated by NRC.

Generic Responsibilities

  • Adhere to NRC Policies, guidance and procedures
  • Carry beneficiary awareness and make arrangement on the distribution of the cash and NFI.
  • Ensure beneficiary prepared and ware on the cash, amount to received, and follow up on the smooth distribution.
  • Ensure NFI distribution conducted in accordance the good distribution.
  • Beneficiary selection, registration and verification for the support
  • Actively promote PSEA (prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse) standards & principles with NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC

Specific Responsibilities

Data Collection:

  • Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects.
  • Collect data in a specified tool and ensure its timely submission to the specified coordinator.
  • Maintain the quality of data to the highest standard
  • Record Keeping. Keeps record of information obtained from the survey
  • Ensure NFI distribution conducted in accordance the good distribution.
  • Beneficiary selection, registration and verification for the support
  • Support the complain/feedback mechanism and reporting system as help desk assistance
  • Ensure protection of the beneficiary is protected from harm and follow-up safety precautions.
  • Plan and organize over all schedule of travelling to the camps and other assessment areas.
  • Ensure beneficiaries data are recorded in accordance with the data protection obligations.
  • Evaluate overall satisfaction of the project from the perspective of beneficiaries.
  • Utilize the information to improve future distributions and overall program quality for similar
  • Ensure the data collection and Kobo tools are uploaded in to the system.

Generic professional competencies:

  • University Degree graduate with experience in social science, statistics, economics, rural development, or Engineering or in other related fields with experience in humanitarian context.
  • At least 2 and above years’ experience from working as a data Collector/distributions Programme
  • S/he should be able to meet deadlines. Good in spoken and written English is necessary. Knowledge of humanitarian principles and code of conduct is essential.
  • Previous experience of data collection with NGOs preferred Plus Kobo system & tool advantage
  • Knowledge of local language (mandatory)

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Computer skills (common Microsoft Windows and Office applications)
  • Previous experience with mobile data collection methods and other on line data collection tools
  • Good organizational skills, including, ability to work to deadlines and to priorities
  • Good knowledge of the culture and language of the local community
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work diligently both independently and in a team setting
