Job Description
1. Introduction
The Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit organization. ECDD is committed to promoting the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities through policy advocacy and the mainstreaming of disability inclusion in service delivery, development programs, and humanitarian actions, in partnership with other organizations. Established in 2005, ECDD is dedicated to fostering an inclusive Ethiopia where persons with disabilities in all their diversities exercise their human rights and have access to mainstream services and opportunities on an equal basis with others.
ECDD is hiring a highly qualified and motivated Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Coordinator for its AHEAD Project, funded by UNFPA. This role requires a professional with outstanding technical knowledge in SRH and demonstrated management experience to guide our efforts in making reproductive health and other services accessible and disability-inclusive for adolescents and youth with disabilities.
2. Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this position is to strengthen the skills and opportunities of adolescents and youth with disabilities to access mainstream services related to maternal health, family planning, HIV/AIDS, alternative dispute resolution, GBV, and harmful practices in Addis Ababa, Hawassa, Bahir Dar, Wolaita Sodo, and Arba Minch cities of Ethiopia.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and manage the AHEAD Project activities well together with the project team, regularly track progress, fund utilization, identify gaps (if any), and provide regular updates to the Program, MEL, and Finance Units as well as Donors.
- Ensure efficient management of project funds by regularly tracking them;
- Ensure alignment with the project outcome and donor policies, National Adolescents and Youth Health Strategy (2021-2025), as well as ECDD Strategic Plan (2025-2030);
- Provide strategic guidance to the Project Team, including the development of annual work plans, implementation of the project activities, engagement of respective stakeholders, and reporting;
- Collaborate with the stakeholders and partners to strengthen SRH systems to strengthen access to services for adolescents and youth with disabilities;
- Properly document project achievements, share best practices through case studies and publications, and prepare presentations and reports for donor, internal, and stakeholder engagements;
- Manage and establish excellent relationships with the government stakeholders, donors, rights holders, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and other partners to ensure successful implementation of the project;
- Participate in internal and external technical meetings/working groups to learn and contribute to disability inclusive and gender responsive SRH services in Ethiopia;
- Ensures good communication, coordination, and information sharing among the project team through facilitating regular team meetings, followed by minutes of the meeting shared with the Program Director and Deputy Program Director;
- Identify and assess project risks, report on them on time, by developing strategies to address them;
- Closely Work with the Head Office Program Unit, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) staff, and Finance Team;
- Prepare and deliver high-quality reports to donors, government signatories, as well as the MEL Unit of ECDD within agreed timelines;
- Provide technical assistance to relevant stakeholders involved in the project;
- Participate in and represent ECDD in meetings/events as requested.
- Together with the MEL team, develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project outputs, outcomes (results), and impact indicators.
- Comply with all relevant ECDD policies and procedures, including, but not limited to: anti-fraud and bribery, Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding Policy, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Code of Conduct, Gender Equality, Data Protection, Finance, Procurement, and Human Resources Management.

4. Qualifications, Experience, and Requirements
- Qualified health professional with a Master’s degree or above in public health with a strong background in Sexual and Reproductive Health, or in another health-related field;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the management of Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health-related interventions;
- Strong understanding of health systems strengthening in the Ethiopian context in general and disability inclusive sexual and reproductive health and other services in particular;
- Advanced training/experience in Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health Programming;
- Previous professional experience working with persons with disabilities is desirable;
- Willing to frequently travel to the target cities of the project;
5. Skills and Competence
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the project team and beyond.
- Demonstrated ability in computer skills, including excellent word-processing capabilities, proficiency with e-mail and internet applications, and experience in using office software applications such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong command of both written and spoken English is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to interact with colleagues, stakeholders, and decision-makers in technical and other professional settings.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be resourceful, proactive in identifying and addressing challenges, yet consulting and asking for assistance as needed/relevant.
