Job Description
To lead and manage the export marketing operations of Dololo Import and Export Company, ensuring strategic market expansion, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. The Export Marketing Manager will oversee the end-to-end export process, including international market research, branding, logistics coordination, product positioning, and customer acquisition. The role also requires leadership in business development, innovation, risk management, and digital marketing to enhance the company’s global competitiveness.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Export Management
- Develop and execute export strategies to expand into new international markets.
- Negotiate contracts with foreign buyers, distributors, and trade partners.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian export regulations, international trade laws, and destination country requirements.
- Coordinate logistics, freight forwarding, and documentation (Export Permits, L/C, B/L, COO).
- Monitor shipping schedules, costs, and market conditions to mitigate risks (currency fluctuations, geopolitical factors).
Build and maintain relationships with foreign embassies, trade associations, and export promotion agencies
2. Marketing & Business Development
- Conduct international market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
- Develop and implement export-focused marketing campaigns, both digital and traditional.
- Position products effectively in foreign markets through branding, packaging, and pricing strategies.
- Participate in trade fairs, expos, and B2B networking events to promote the company’s offerings.
- Analyze export sales data to adjust marketing strategies and product offerings.
- Drive initiatives to improve customer retention and expand market share.
3. Team Leadership
- Lead a cross-functional export marketing team (logistics, sales, marketing, compliance).
- Set KPIs, monitor progress, and conduct performance reviews.
- Provide mentorship and training to ensure team members have the necessary skills for export operations.
- Foster collaboration with finance, production, and legal departments for seamless export execution.
4. Financial & Reporting Oversight
- Prepare export budgets, sales forecasts, and marketing expenditure plans.
- Report to senior management on export performance, ROI, and market penetration progress.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in shipping, marketing, and operations.
About You
- MBA or Master’s degree in International Trade, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in export operations and international marketing within an import-export company.
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership or managerial role in export marketing.
