ODA Invites applicants of committed and experienced teachers for its Boarding schools found in Adama and Bishoftu.
1. Job Title: English, Afan Oromo, Mathematics, Physics, Area Study, Physics laboratory technician and ICT teachers
2. Required number: 9 ( English (2), Mathematics (2), one for the remaining each subject )

About You
4. Role and Responsibilities
ODA Boarding School teachers are responsible:
- To handle courses, tutorial, practical hours, mentoring and advising of boarding school students and take additional responsibilities which will be given by the school.
- IT teacher is also responsible to handle ICT laboratory work, computer maintenance, and take additional responsibilities which will be given by the school.
Physics Laboratory Technician Is also Responsible For
- Providing demonstration and supporting or guiding students at laboratory session.
- Provides laboratory facilities for the teacher and also expect to support teaching learning too.
- Preparing with teachers laboratory program for students.
- Regularly available in the laboratory sessions.
- Request the necessary materials, reagents and chemical on time.
- Give timely respond to all laboratory issues in the school.
- Preparation of science materials and equipment
- Routing maintenance of science laboratories and preparation rooms, their equipment and services
- Maintaining the stocks of science chemicals and equipment
5. Job Requirements
5.1. Education Qualifications
We seek teachers who:
- Have M.Ed. Degree in English , Mathematics, Physics, Afan Oromo, and ICT
- Have a BSc. Degree in Physics laboratory science or in Applied Physics for the position of Physics laboratory technician.
- Have first degree/ Master of education or M.Ed. Degree in Political science and International relation, Social Anthropology, civics and ethical education, History or History and heritage management for the job position of Area Study teacher.
- Have Post Graduate Diploma in teaching /PGDT/ certificate for all job position; (for applied Science applicants)
- Graduated from recognized government college or University with a minimum of CGPA 2.75 for first degree and who was graduated in post level specialization in teaching;
- Four semesters recent consecutive performance evaluation result on average 90% and above
- Minimum of 4 years work experience in degree and 2 years in post graduate in teaching; out of which 2 years in teaching G 11-12.
- Priority will be given for teachers who successfully completed and awarded certificate of completion in the summer special capacity building training program for secondary school teachers, organized by FDRE, Ministry of Education in 2016 EC
- For laboratory technician job position have a minimum of 4 years work experience in teaching or Physics laboratory technician in secondary school.
5.2 Knowledge & Skills
We require teachers who are:
- Willing to attend in service training of teachers, self-motivated energetic, organized and flexible individual;
- Free from any addiction and well-mannered good conduct with no bad records;
- In principle willing to be around the school compound 24:00 hours except in exceptional condition;
- Understanding of the nature of boarding school and needs of high school students;
- Written and oral communication skills in English and Afan Oromo are mandatory;
- Professionally ethical, honest and willing to serve as outstanding role model in the community;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Email usage, Google Suite, internet searching and willing to learn new computer skills;
- Able to demonstrate learner-centered teaching methodologies and are eager to continue to learn;
- Have an experience of working in schools with a mission for academic excellence and student engagement;
