The General Manager (GM) of Fenot Associates (FA) oversees the daily operations of the company’s business, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness to achieve its organizational goals. The GM is responsible for strategic planning, financial management, team leadership, and operational oversight. Essentially, the GM will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of FA, establishing a system for the appropriate utilization of human and financial resources, and ensuring regulatory procedures, including labor and tax regulations, are followed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategies, including setting goals, identifying growth opportunities, and assessing risks, to achieve FA objectives.
- Financial Management: Developing and managing budgets, optimizing expenses, and ensuring the financial health of FA.
- Operational Oversight: Overseeing day-to-day operations of FA, ensuring smooth and efficient operational and business processes, and maintaining quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Leading, motivating, and developing the FA team, fostering a positive work environment, and managing performance. Providing leadership and supporting the FA team to ensure the team has the necessary capacity and support to deliver expected outputs.
- Partnership Management: Building and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with regulations, such as tax and labor laws, by implementing risk management strategies, and developing contingency plans.
- Performance Evaluation: Monitoring and evaluating performance, identifying areas for improvement, and providing constructive feedback, as well as following continuous improvements.
- Policy and Process Implementation: Developing and implementing policies and procedures to optimize performance, create a positive work environment, and ensure consistency.
About You
The general manager role is a multifaceted position that requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and operational expertise to drive success for FA. A master’s degree in business management, social or health sciences, and related fields, as well as relevant experience, is required. Strong written and spoken English skills, as well as well-developed teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills, are essential.
