Position: Senior Budget and Treasury Officer
Place of Work: Head Offices, Addis Ababa
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives all user requests, verifies, approves and effects payments;
- Processes all receipts and disbursements;
- Receives requests for inter branch fund transfers;
- Develops the annual budget with the Manager, Budget and Treasury & Section, and with input from other managers;
- Makes sure that proper budgetary control is in place conduct analysis of budget utilization;
- Prepares payment instrument for any payment above payment to be effected by cash;
- Processes the payroll, including payroll tax returns;
- Manages all the petty cash fund, other funds and liquidities of the Company;
- Captures all Head Office data of payment, receipt, fund transfer, etc. to the appropriate account using the system;
- Prepares and submits periodical liquidity and fund management report to the Manager, Budget and Treasury Division;
- Co-ordinates and controls regional and branch offices budget;
- Closely follows up the weekly liquidity position reported from regional and branch offices through telephone;
- Processes change of bank signatories where deemed necessary;
- Processes fund transfer requests when shortage of money occurred at branches;
- Prepares the monthly payroll for Head Office employees;
- Prepares the payment vouchers, receipt vouchers and checks as deemed necessary;
- Prepares periodic report to the supervisor;
- Performs other duties as assigned by the
- Manager, Budget and Treasury Division.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
About You
Qualification and Technical Skill Required
- BA Degree in Accounting & Finance or related field.
- Ability to work with very minimum supervision, independently and in a team
- Feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive and result-oriented
- Good planning, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills;
- Well organized and ability to act in a professional and ethical manner;
- Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of integrity;
- Proficient in Microsoft office, Core Banking System and excellent use of Excel spreadsheets;
- Highly developed sense of reliability and accuracy;
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent report writing in English and presentation skills
Experience:
- 5 Years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with core banking systems and mobile platforms is an advantage.
- Knowledge of banking operations and digital trends in the financial industry.
