Job Description

DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government, bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs: the Child Well-being and Education Development Program, the Gender and Life Skill Development Program, the Employable Skills Development Program, the Advocacy Program, and the Humanitarian Emergency Program.

DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following positions: Project Coordinator, Education in Emergency EiE Project Officer, Social Worker/Community Mobilizer, Meal Officer, Gender and Inclusive Officer, Finance Coordinator, Woreda Caher, and Guard

Gender Inclusive Officer

Job Summary

Ensures that humanitarian responses are equitable, inclusive, and sensitive to the diverse needs of affected populations. They lead efforts to integrate gender and disability considerations into program design, implementation, and monitoring—addressing barriers to access, protection risks, and participation. By conducting rapid gender analyses, coordinating with local actors, and promoting inclusive practices, they help safeguard vulnerable groups and uphold dignity, safety, and equal opportunity throughout the crisis response

Specific Role and Responsibility

  • Implement and mainstream gender and social inclusion programs and initiatives together with the other thematic areas of the project;
  • Provide inputs to the gender and inclusive annual work plan, monitor actions, and draft
  • Design and implement capacity development initiatives concerning gender inclusion;
  • Builds strong relationships with all partners, focuses on impact and results, and responds positively to critical feedback;
  • Ensure target groups have meaningful participation in project activities

About You

Education Qualification

  • BA Social worker, Sociology, Psychology, Development Study, Gender Study

NGO/CSO Experience

  • 5 Year

Additional Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing
  • Familiarity with the local context and ability to work in rural areas.
