About Deborah Foundation
Established in 2019, Deborah Foundation is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Our work focuses on three core areas: Health, Education, and Policy Advocacy, with the goal of creating a more inclusive and supportive society for all.
Through our flagship initiative, Deborah Academy, we operate one of the few inclusive schools in Ethiopia. The academy provides a safe and nurturing learning environment that values diversity, tolerance, and individual growth. We are committed to helping children reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally while fostering a culture of acceptance and empowerment for students, families, and educators alike.
Head of Kindergarten Department
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all academic and operational aspects of the kindergarten level.
- Develop inclusive, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Mentor and supervise teaching staff.
- Engage with parents to monitor children’s progress and well-being.
About You
Qualifications
- BA/MA in Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role in early childhood settings.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive and play-based learning approaches.
- Previous experience working with students with special needs.
- Creativity
