About the Project:

Faith in Action (FIA) is a legally registered local CSO established in 2010 G.C. and re-registered in 2019 under proclamation No.1113/2019. FIA empowers children, women, and youth through programs focused on health, education, and economic resilience, working toward an equitable, and sustainable future for Ethiopia.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Health Officer to support outbreak preparedness and response efforts. The Health Officer will be responsible for implementing health interventions at the field level, ensuring effective disease surveillance and reporting systems, and coordinating closely with local health authorities and partners. The role requires strong technical knowledge in public health, with particular emphasis on maternal and child health (MCH) and the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).The project will be implemented in West Belesa and Kinfaz Begela woredas, Amhara Region, Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field assessments and monitor outbreak trends.
  • Implement rapid response protocols during outbreaks.
  • Support surveillance and case management activities.
  • Train and supervise community health workers and local teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Promote health education and risk communication in communities.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Environmental Health, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience, with a strong background in maternal and child health (MCH) and Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).
  • Strong understanding of epidemiology and disease control strategies.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
