About Deborah Foundation
Established in 2019, Deborah Foundation is a registered non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities through support in the areas of Health, Education and Policy Advocacy. Under the Deborah Foundation, Deborah Academy is one of a few schools in Ethiopia that offer inclusive education. We aim to create a safe learning environment that promotes diversity and tolerance for students with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. The academy aspires to be a hub for fostering the growth of successful, creative, and tolerant individuals.
Summary: The ICT Teacher and Librarian is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive technology integration curriculum, as well as managing the school’s library and ICT room. This combined role promotes the integration of technology-enhanced learning experiences, and fosters students’ digital literacy.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessment methods to evaluate students’ understanding and progress.
- Oversee the use and maintenance of ICT resources, including computers, software, and peripherals.
- Oversee the library to ensure cleanliness, order, and protection of the library’s resources
- Develop and organize library inventory (e.g. with books, collections, periodicals, multimedia, etc.)
- Conduct regular checks and updates on database information
- Help students with reading materials and references

About You
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in a relevant field
- Minimum one years of experience as a school librarian or as an ICT teacher
- Excellent knowledge of children’s and young adult literature, as well as digital resources and
information literacy - Strong technology skills and the ability to integrate various media and tools into instruction and library
services - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and
families - Previous experience working with students with special needs.
- Knowledge of teaching practices for students with special needs.

- Using Word, excel, and other basic computer knowledge
- Strong Communication and market fluency
