01. Senior Accountant

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Employment Type: Full-time, Contract (Initial 9-month contract with the possibility of extension)

About the Role

ACT is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial management and ensure the accuracy of project financial records. The ideal candidate will be responsible for budget control, ensuring project costs align with budget allocations while closely tracking expenses, including invoices and other project-related expenditures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee and maintain accurate project financial records, including budgets, expenses, and financial forecasts.
  • Budget Control: Ensure alignment of project costs with budget allocations
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor daily financial activities and keep track of invoices, expenses, and other project-related expenditures.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, cost analysis, and project status updates for management and stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting, financial management, or a related role.
  • Proven experience in budget control, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with financial compliance, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in grant or donor-funded project accounting is a plus.

02. Technical Program Officer

Location: Addis Ababa
Position Type: Project-Based

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Program Officer to support the implementation and coordination of a Project. The Officer will provide technical input, support program implementation, ensure coordination among stakeholders, regional coordinators, TVETs, enterprises, planning and facilitating trainings and refresher sessions, managing logistics and payments for activities and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes. This role requires a candidate with strong technical expertise, excellent coordination and communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple teams and partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical and Program Support:

  • Assist in planning and executing technical activities in alignment with project objectives and workplans.
  • Provide technical input into the design and delivery of interventions, tools, and guidelines.
  • Support development of training materials, knowledge products, and technical reports.
  • Monitor implementation progress and provide support to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Organize and facilitate technical trainings, orientation sessions, and refresher courses for field staff and implementing partners.
  • Prepare training schedules, agendas, and materials in collaboration with technical staffs.
  • Ensure effective tracking of participant attendance and training outputs.
  • Coordinate post-training assessments and evaluations.

Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison between project teams, implementing partners, government counterparts, and community stakeholders.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings, working groups, and technical workshops.
  • Ensure timely information sharing and alignment of activities across partners and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a calendar of project events and ensure appropriate representation at key coordination forums.
  • Support the integration of project efforts within relevant government systems and platforms.

Payments and Operational Support

  • Coordinate the logistical arrangements for trainings, field activities, and meetings, including venue booking, transport, and accommodation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and timely processing of participant payments, Refreshment payments, and activity allowances in collaboration with the finance team.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  • Work with the M&E team to support data collection, validation, and analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
  • Track indicators and documenting best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.

About You

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project management, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of professional experience in technical or coordination roles within donor-funded projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder coordination, preferably with government and NGOs.
  • Solid understanding of [, e.g., Training, education, upskilling, etc.].
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with donor compliance and reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, SharePoint).
