01. Senior Accountant-Business Process Solutions (2 Positions) | Addis Ababa

One of our service line is Business Process Solution. some of the services related to this service line include, but not limited to, Accounting, Preparation of Financial Statement (FS),Tax compliance within Outsourcing, Payroll Processing/Administration.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Timely review of coding and posting of accounting transactions, preparation of bank reconciliations .
  • Advising Client’s management for proper actions on related issues identified.
  • Preparation of Clients’ payroll timeline, review of payroll data, processing of payroll, pay slips and salary payment through bank instructions.
  • Preparation of Clients’ monthly declarations (VAT, WHT, PF, IT, etc.) and processing of their filing and settlement with the tax authorities.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports / financial statements and also annual statutory financial statements as required by Clients.
  • Archive Clients’ accounting, payroll, tax and other documents completely and on a systematic way.
  • Advise Clients for taking on time count of inventory and fixed assets at the year end and based on the output of the count, process reconciliations with the accounting records and produce valuation reports as appropriate.
  • Facilitate and assist audit of the Client’s accounts.
  • Work closely with the Tax Service line to address any tax related advisory questions from Clients.
  • Carry out other assignment as directed by the BPS Partner and/or Senior Managers.
  • Regularly check email correspondences from Clients and reply on time.
  • Share service fee notes with Clients on time and follow up for their settlement.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising Clients on needed actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Assist and/work with Managers and the BPS Partner in carrying out various BPS assignments.
  • Lead and deliver the required output for complex client engagement.
  • Supervise junior team members and review their work as a team leader on assignments.

About You

Educational Qualification and Experience Required

  • BA degree in accounting and finance .
  • Minimum 6 years of experience and at least 2 year must be in a senior position.
  • Work experience in Business Process Solution/Outsourcing/Accounting Consultancy firms and Private Limited Companies is highly preferred.

Ability and Skill Required

  • Having a deep understanding of accounting cycles and Ethiopian tax laws.
  • Able to work on multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team spirit/working in a team.
  • Interpersonal communication and negotiations skills.
  • Computer skills including the ability to operate spreadsheets and word-processing.
  • Good command of both verbal and written English.

02. Tax Consultant (2 Positions) | Addis Ababa

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an experienced tax advisor to clients across industries on a range of services;
  • Involve in providing tax advice where necessary on business transactions and investments across industries;
  • Handle monitoring multiple tax client engagements including, tax audit support, health check and due diligence
  • Monitor and convey to clients information regarding technical development as well as their application to local and international tax issues;
  • Participate in dealing with ad-hoc queries from the general practice partners and the tax compliance teams;
  • Assist the tax manager with the implementation of projects;
  • Involve in the preparation of financial statements and corporate income tax returns and relevant schedules for tax authority, as well as external auditors;
  • Provide advices and assist individuals or companies in tax filing or returns;
  • Support clients by providing guidance on tax questions as they arise and apply efficiently and precisely tax skills to client situations;
  • Collaborate on tax consulting and compliance engagements for a broad client base while working closely with the teams responsible for client tax services;
  • Identify opportunities and risks related to tax, indirect taxes, international tax and closely work with experts in order to provide practical solutions to clients;
  • Assist management of the clients in the implementation of any directives issued by tax offices or improvements suggested by external auditors;
  • Maintain and update working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new directives, filing practices, deadlines, and other;
  • Develop strong relationship with clients, including understanding their business practices and specific tax information needs;
  • Identify opportunities and risks related to tax, indirect tax and international tax; closely work with experts in order to provide practical solutions to clients;
  • Enhance and share knowledge with peers in order to develop personal professional skills and improve service delivery;
  • Guide, support appraisal and development of associates;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

About You

Educational and Experience Required

  • BA in Accounting and Finance.
  • 6 years or above working experience as Tax Advisor or having tax exposure at least two years of work experience on a senior position.
  • Experience in consultancy firms is a plus.
