The Rift-valley Initiative for Rural Advancement (RIRA) a non for profit, non- political, and non-government organization which has been operating in Oromia in Ethiopia since 2010 implementing various development and humanitarian projects. RIRA, in partnership with WGF, APDA, PAPDA, and GWEDE is implementing project “Peaceful Understanding and Reconciliation for Pastoralist Livelihood Enhancement project” in Oromia, Afar and Somali regions.
1. Project Officer
Location: Fantale and Gumbi Bordode districts, Oromia Region of Ethiopia

Job Description
RIRA is inviting applications from qualified staffs that can fulfill the requirements of the post to fill the following vacancies that exist at Fantale and Gumbi Bordode districts, Oromia Region of Ethiopia.
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key community members, local leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Other Related Activities when assigned
About You
- Education: BA degree in relevant disciplines – such as peace and conflict studies, social studies, development studies, international development and relevant fields- appropriate for leading a peace building and social cohesion.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) working in peace-building, conflict resolution, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of peace-building concepts, conflict analysis frameworks, and approaches to reconciliation.
- Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel).
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
