CHADET Ethiopia is a non-profit national development organization registered in Ethiopia that works for the protection and welfare of children found under difficult circumstances. CHADET would like to hire competent staff for supporting and executing a project that is being designed to support the coordination and execute a project that is being designed to provide non-formal education for selected street children in Addis Ababa.
The positions and key tasks that are expected of the candidate are outlined as follows:
01. Project Officer

Job Description
Role Summary
The Project Officer implements and coordinates the project’s educational activities at the field level. This role also serves as the primary contact for all Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tasks, ensuring project data is collected and reported effectively. The Project Officer works within the organization’s guidelines and reports directly to the Project Coordinator.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment in drop-in centers.
- Assist in developing and adapting learning materials that are relevant, accessible, and appropriate for the unique needs and circumstances of the target group.
- Ensure all M&E activities, from data collection to reporting, are conducted ethically and prioritize the safety and dignity of children through the use of adapted, participatory methods.
- Compile and analyze field data to prepare timely and accurate reports that reflect both numerical outputs and qualitative changes (e.g., in behavior, confidence, and well-being).
- Contribute to project reviews by sharing M&E findings and stories of change from the field.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including community leaders, local authorities, social workers, and other NGOs working with vulnerable children.
- Carry out other similar activities as may be assigned by the program teams.

About You
Required
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years of direct, hands-on experience working with street-connected children, at-risk youth, or other highly vulnerable populations.
- Proven experience designing and facilitating non-formal education or life-skills programs.
- Demonstrable experience with field-level Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E).
- Languages: Fluency in both spoken and written English and Amharic.

02. Project Coordinator

Key responsibilities:
Subject to the general guidelines of the organization and directives from the program manager, the project coordinator shall be responsible for guiding, directing, and coordinating the activities of the project and will have the following duties and responsibilities: –
- Lead Project Execution: Drive the project from planning to completion by developing work plans, managing day-to-day operations of the informal education center, and coordinating support for evening school students.
- Supervise & Mentor the Team: Lead, guide, and build the capacity of project staff, providing regular supervision and technical support to ensure high-quality implementation.
- Manage Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with government schools, community leaders, caregivers, and partner organizations to achieve project objectives.
- Oversee Monitoring & Reporting: Implement the M&E framework to track key performance indicators (enrollment, attendance, learning outcomes) and prepare timely, accurate progress reports for the head office.
- Ensure Financial Compliance: Manage the project budget, oversee all expenditures, and ensure proper utilization of funds.
- Champion Child Safeguarding: Uphold and enforce the organization’s Child Safeguarding Policy, ensuring all staff are trained and a safe, child-friendly environment is maintained at all
- Carry out other similar activities as assigned by the supervisor.

About You
Qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of BA degree in relevant fields of Social Work, Development Studies, Education, Sociology, or a related field with a minimum of five years of experience or
- MSC in similar fields with a minimum of three years of experience in coordinating/leading projects.
Competencies:
- This position requires a motivated and innovative person with strong program management skills and an ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to manage outreach schedules and educational activities effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
