UEWCA was established in 2010 as a platform to voice the voice of its members and beneficiaries as well as to capacitate and coordinate the efforts of its member CSOs and Stakeholders towards seeing well-dignified, empowered, healthy, vibrant and visionary women, girls and children in Ethiopia.

Union of Ethiopian Women and Children Associations (UEWCA) is a non-governmental, apolitical, non-religious consortium of 93 local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) focusing on the empowerment and gender equality of women, girls, and children. Established in 2010, UEWCA has been instrumental in coordinating efforts to ensure gender equality and empowerment across Ethiopia. UEWCA legally registered with the FDRE Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) with registration number 1482 and have a physical presence in Addis Ababa.
The Organization is seeking vibrant, dedicated and experienced employee for post of Senior Accountant Position.
Duty Station: Addis Ababa, UEWCA Head Office
Salary: As per the Organization Scale
Required: One
Duration: One year with possibility of extension based on availability of funds
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and financial statements.
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and donor requirements.
- Coordinate with project staff to ensure proper financial management and adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of financial plans and budgets for the project.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports and documentation to relevant stakeholders.
About You
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A Minimum of 5 years of experience as project Accountant in a humanitarian or non-profit organization (NGO).
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills in English and Amharic.
