09. Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable accounting standards and school policies.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and bank statements.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits.
- Manage budget preparation and budgetary control.
- Ensure compliance with tax and other statutory requirements.
- Supervise and support junior accounting staff.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders.

About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Certification in ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or other relevant professional accounting certification.
- Training or certification in IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an educational institution or similar sector.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, accounting standards, and AABE requirements.
- Membership in the Ethiopian Professional Accountants and Auditors Association (EPAAA) is an asset.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
