Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Leads and coordinates kefeta project planning, and activity implementation at the Head Office level in congruence with FGAE’s Strategic Plan and donor requirements, ensuring that implementation follows approved guidelines and work plans and achieving kefeta project goals. The position holder provides technical kefeta project employees at subsequent project operation sites.

RESPONISIBILITIES AND TASKS

  1. Provide overall credible leadership ensuring that kefeta’s strategies, guidelines, SOPs and manuals are properly implemented in the clusters;
  2. Serve as contact person for the kefeta project and liaison with Amref Health Africa
  3. Contribute to technical excellence at kefeta  consortium being active member to technical working lab assigned for;
  4. Provide targeted technical assistance to project implementation to foster continuous improvement in quality in both programmatic and operational performance;
  5. Ensure projects are aligned with and contribute to national and local strategies, policies, operational guidelines, and protocols as applicable;
  6. Assure quality to all operational plans for projects to ensure they are realistic;
  7. Review operational budgets in conjunction with project teams, Finance team to ensure value for money;
  8. Plan and facilitate planning and performance review sessions in alignment with kefeta’s planning cycle;
  9. Ensure timely submission of quality project plan and other  reports required by donors;
  10. Be primary contact person for kefeta project working closely with Directors based at the central coordination office;
  11. Effectively manage dissemination of information from the central coordination to clusters and cities staff;
  12. Ensures the establishment of effective relationship with implementing partners of the kefeta project including private and Public health facilities;
  13. Proposes Area office and cluster level innovative interventions to better reach targeted project beneficiaries which mainly focused on youths.
  14. Plans, reviews, documents best practices and/lessons learned from kefeta project interventions from area Office to Head office for dissemination of best practices to other Area Offices.
  15. Works closely with the Area Manager and Amref  Health Africa cluster lead  in the conduct of evidence-based advocacy to advance kefeta project  agenda at the Regional, Zonal and Woreda levels;
  16. Monitors effective implementation of project activities, documents any learnings from implementation, and, initiates actions and/or make appropriate recommendations to HO level management for appropriate actions;
  17. Ensures that planned activities and their implementation are supported with proper documentation;
  18. Performs similar other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by his/her immediate supervisor and functional manager following the active policies, guidelines and manuals in use.

Job Requirements

Educational Background:- ·         MPH/MA/MSc/BSc/BA  in Public Health, Development Studies,, Social studies  Demography, Nursing and related studies

Work experience:- 6 Years for MPH/MA/MSc and 10 years for Bsc/BA  after graduating, shall possess an Extensive experiences in managing project, report writing, service data analysis,  same or similar position in the NGO sector or donor funded project

Skills required:-  ·

  • Proven experience in working with Public health facilities at lower and medium level structures;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Experience of managing youth programs and community-based projects / interventions
  • Experience in working with donors, MOH, and NGOs in the areas of SRH.
