Position Summary

The Kindergarten Main Teacher will provide high-quality early childhood education and care to children aged 4–6 years, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. The role includes designing and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum, supporting children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, and working closely with parents, colleagues, and the school leadership team to ensure holistic child development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver daily lessons based on the approved KG curriculum, ensuring age-appropriate and engaging activities.
  • Integrate play-based and experiential learning approaches to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Incorporate literacy, numeracy, science, art, music, and physical education into daily activities.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater to individual learning needs and abilities.

2. Classroom Management & Child Development

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that supports learning and exploration.
  • Monitor and record each child’s progress and development through observations, portfolios, and assessments.
  • Provide positive discipline and guidance to promote respect, cooperation, and self-control.

3. Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding children’s progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, and school leadership to ensure consistency in teaching practices.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

4. Professional Development & Compliance

  • Stay updated with best practices in early childhood education.
  • Comply with the school’s policies, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety regulations.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective teaching practices.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field (minimum diploma accepted with strong experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in KG/Early Years, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development theories and best practices.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
