Job Description
Role and responsibilities
The purpose of the Logistics and Procurement Assistant is to provide support for the implementation of logistics/procurement functions.
Generic responsibilities:
- Adhere to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements
- Assist with the implementation of the logistic function’s portfolio according to Plan of Action
- Provide logistic administration and basic support
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of all support documents
- Assist in the planning and delivery of logistic activity
- Maintain logistic records, suppliers and equipment
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the logistic function
Specific responsibilities
Procurement:
- Manage and register all incoming requisitions at NRC office and update status report on procurement for inclusion and circulation in the status report
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, services and equipment.
- Assist in preparation of documentation for bids committee meetings.
- Maintain proper files of requisitions, quotations and purchase orders.
- Report all procurement status in weekly/ monthly basis to the line manager.
Warehouse and Asset Management:
- Manage inventory control/procurement of items at NRC office and report all stock balances to the line manager in weekly/ monthly basis.
- Update the Mission Assets inventory at NRC office and guest/staff houses and generate periodic reports balances to the line manager in monthly basis
Fleet Management:
- Supporting to Manage fleet driver daily, weekly and monthly plans
- Prepare requisitions for spare parts for NRC vehicles
- Ensure all drivers adhere to NRC logistics and drivers procedures
- Compile and submit monthly vehicle utilization as well as carpool and movement reports.
- Liaise with other projects key staff to share the movement plan in order to ensure that the fleet department functions smoothly
- Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the line manager

- BA Degree in Logistics or related field of study;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience from working as a Logistics Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
- Computer skills (common Microsoft Windows and Office applications)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
