Job Description

The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) in Ethiopia is a leading organization dedicated to empowering women and girls across the country.

YWCA in Ethiopia is excited to announce the opening for a MEAL Officer within our organization. This role is critical to ensuring the success, transparency, and continuous improvement of our programs and initiatives.

The MEAL Officer will be responsible for:

  1. Monitoring:
    • Track project progress and performance against set goals and objectives.
    • Develop and implement monitoring tools and frameworks.
  2. Evaluation:
    • Design and conduct evaluations to assess program impact and effectiveness.
    • Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
  3. Accountability:
    • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, donor requirements, and ethical practices.
    • Establish feedback mechanisms to address concerns and improve stakeholder engagement.
  4. Learning:
    • Identify and document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
    • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to improve future program design and implementation.
  5. Reporting:
    • Prepare and present regular progress reports to management and donors.
    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting.

About You

Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) or a similar role.
  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Power BI, etc.).
  • Experience in designing and implementing MEAL frameworks and tools.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of donor reporting requirements and compliance standards.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
