Job Title: Project Manager

Reporting to: Programme Manager (PgM) Prevention
Job Purpose
The overall job purpose of the Wolaita Community Prevention Project Manager is to provide overall project cycle management and leadership and ensure that Wolaita Zone Community Prevention Project achieves its objectives by delivering the intended outputs of community development services through models of Self Help Groups (SHG), Cluster Level Associations (CLAs), and Federation, school Child Wellbeing and other clubs, Community Conversations to minimize the impact of negative social norms, Community Awareness Raising Events, other community education workshops, collaborating with CBOs, FBOs, and other governmental and non-governmental duty bearers etc to prevent trafficking/re-trafficking and modern slavery among the community.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement all programs and programmes within budget, time and scope.
- Ensure all programs meet their targets as outlined in the Country Business Plan for each year.
- Supervise and line manage relevant staff (following organizational structure), reporting significant issues to the prevention programmes manager.
- Contribute to regular monitoring and evaluation including monthly reports.
- Write Friday Bullets (using template) each Friday morning and send to Programme manager.
- Chair and record minutes of monthly staff meetings.
- Host visits from donors, other NGOs, GoE stakeholders and other interested people and write a report (using the template) and send it to the programme manager within one week of the visit. Liaise with the programme manager about all visits.
- Manage all Wolaita project activities (SHGs, CWB clubs and community education workshops) to ensure outcomes are met within the appropriate time frames.
- Prepare specifications and facilitate the procurement of all necessary inputs according to Hope for Justice’s finance policies and procedures to ensure the effective implementation of the project activities
- Ensure effective implementation of the project activities at site level in line with the project agreement with donor and government.
- Ensure beneficiary participation in all aspects of the project and that activities are designed and implemented incorporating beneficiary feedback.
- Implement all project activities according to Hope for Justice work policies.
- Work closely with government officials, community leaders and project partners to ensure the best outcomes are achieved.
- Complete any other assessments of children/families as requested by Programme Manager.
- Assist in timely submission of quarterly, semi-annual and final reports for donors and government.
- Maintain proper documentation of the project documents and reports.
- Participates in site visits as necessary and facilitate logistical support for trips.
- Ensure monthly reports of activities are sent to MEL team Keep professional, accurate and confidential records of all consultations and laboratory results.
- Line manages the woreda based project officers.
- Perform other duties assigned by the programme manager
Child Safeguarding
Maintain policies, procedures and systems that provide the requisite safeguarding measures for children accessing our services in collaboration with the Country SMHPSS Magaer
Administrative
- Prepare project proposals and annual plan for the Government in collaboration with PgM.
- Prepare first draft of reports for government agencies and donors.
- Prepare monthly cash request and send to PgM and FGM for approval.
- Facilitate mid-term and terminal evaluations and new project agreements as required.
- Assists the programme team to maintain and update the social media, carries out specific web searches and downloads workshop documents.
- Conduct one to one supervision and line management for project officers.
- Liaises with Country Office staff as required and provides assistance to CO staff when visiting the site.
General
- Uphold and work within Hope for Justice’s policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Child & Vulnerable Adult Protection policies.
- Promote Hope for Justice’s core values of Honoring, Openness, Professionalism and Empowerment across the organization and partners.
- Undertake any other duties, as appropriate to the post, as delegated by the PgM.
- Represent the organization in different review meeting, workshop and network meetings.
About You
Experience & Qualifications
- BA in Social Sciences or Community Development.
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a senior position of project management.
- Experience working with vulnerable children and families.
- Holding active Motor Bike driving License.
- Compute literate
