Job Description

The Federation of Ethiopian Associations of Persons with Disabilities (FEAPD) is a prominent cross-disability umbrella organization. Its primary objective is to serve as a unified voice and public representative for persons with disabilities throughout Ethiopia. FEAPD is dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities, advocating for inclusivity and equal opportunities in both development and humanitarian endeavors.

FEAPD collaborates closely with like-minded civil society organizations (CSOs) and member organizations in implementing projects, programs, and policies that ensure equal participation and benefits for persons with disabilities across various domains, including economic, social, political, cultural and environmental aspects. Its aim is to eliminate barriers hindering the involvement of individuals with disabilities in all development and humanitarian initiatives. With a proven track record and a strong commitment to making a positive impact, FEAPD possesses the necessary experience and ambition to effectively address many interventions.

Hence, FEAPD is looking for a competent project officer who fulfils the below requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities and .Required skills:

The Project Officer supports the National Project Coordinator by managing day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient progress, developing sound project proposal and maintaining accurate records. He/she assist with project planning, resource allocation, communication, and documentation, contributing to the overall success of project.

  • Involve and contribute in project planning and implementation of the project activities funded by the foreign affairs of the Netherland through ADF
  • Monitor and Evaluate the project activities at the site, identify drawbacks during implementations and take immediate actions in collaboration with the regional project coordinator, National project coordinator and other stockholders
  • In close consultation with the National Project Coordinator, facilitate and execute the implementation of activities by prioritizing key activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for project management and reporting to National project coordinator and other concerned bodies
  • Oversee a project implementation status and deliver reports on timely accomplishments and highlights solutions for late performance
  • Facilitate external partner organizations to deliver their own enhancement projects as part of wider restoration plans by establishing cordial relationships
  • Work hard to achieve planned project activities in most quality, effective and efficient manner.
  • Work in collaboration with local authorities, community leaders and others deemed important for project implementations
  • Drawing and documenting lessons, best practices and writing success stories of the different interventions of the respective woreda
  • Ensure the continuity of the project through developing a sound project proposal and other capacity building efforts
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the National Project Coordinator

Terms of Employment: Short term Contract up to September 30, 2025

Place of Work: Addis Ababa, FEAPD head office

Salary: Negotiable based on available fund and organizational scale

About You

Qualification

  • MA/MSC/BA/BSC in Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Social work or other social science fields of study with a minimum of 4/6 years of progressive experience in similar settings;
  • At least 2/3 years experiences in an NGO and OPDs settings as Project officer or related positions
