Deborah Foundation, established in 2019, is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with Down Syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Through a focus on Health, Education, and Policy Advocacy, the Foundation promotes inclusion, empowerment, and access to quality services for children and their families.
Position Summary
Deborah Foundation is seeking a committed and organized Project Officer to support the implementation of its programs at the Butajira site. The role involves managing project activities, engaging with stakeholders, supporting beneficiaries, and ensuring timely reporting. Priority will be given to female applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day project operations at the Butajira site
- Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring project activities according to set timelines
- Conduct individual assessments and implement interventions tailored to beneficiary needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for all beneficiaries
- Coordinate and oversee training and screening programs
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop integrated care plans that address medical, educational, and psychosocial needs
- Ensure project activities comply with organizational policies and national regulations
- Assist beneficiaries with registration processes and ensure proper documentation is collected and processed
- Participate in community outreach and awareness efforts on healthcare and disability inclusion
- Monitor site-level budgets and flag inconsistencies or issues
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Team or immediate supervisor
Compensation
- Gross salary: 10,100.00 ETB
About You
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Public Health, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field
- Experience in project coordination or work with NGOs is preferred
- Strong communication skills in Siltigna, Meskanigna, Amharic and English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
- Commitment to working with children and communities with intellectual disabilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
