About the Organization:
Organization for the Development of Women and Children-Ethiopia (ODWaCE) has been operational since 1987 as a National Committee on Traditional Practices of Ethiopia (NCTPE) and registered as a charity in 1993 with a Vision to see Ethiopian women, girls and boys are healthy, well-educated and economically empowered and commitment to enhance the social, psychological and economic development of women and children in Ethiopia through advancing girls’ education, women and child rights, youth development, promoting sexual reproductive health information and services, capacity building, conducting research, networking, lobby & advocacy.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Project Officer with a strong background in Social Sciences and Public Health (MPH) to support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of RHRN2 projects aimed at improving health, social welfare, and community development. The ideal candidate will have experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and delivering measurable results in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Plan, execute, and monitor project activities to ensure timely delivery and alignment with objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with community organizations, local government bodies, CSOs and other stakeholders.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed progress reports, case studies, and documentation for internal and donor requirements.
- Lobby and advocacy: engage with policy advocacy through identifying advocacy issues, policy and decision makers, managing the actual advocacy work and facilitate awareness campaigns, workshops, and training sessions to engage communities effectively.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Support M&E activities to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Resource Mobilization: Contribute to proposal writing and fundraising efforts as needed.
- Technical Support: Provide expertise in social sciences and public health to enhance project design and implementation.

About You
Qualifications and Experience
- BA/Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), Social Sciences (social work, economics and other social science related field).
- At least two years of professional experiences for MA & above for MA in project management, public health, or community development.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly with government bodies, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
- Strong knowledge of advocacy, monitoring and evaluation tools and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in diverse cultural settings and under pressure.
