Job Description

Background:

Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) is a non-profit charity organization established in 2002 by a group of dedicated volunteers in the Jimma Zone of the Oromia regional state, in response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Over the years, FIDO has expanded its scope to include a variety of developmental, emergency, and relief programs/projects across several regions of Ethiopia, including Oromia, Southwest, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar, and Somali, as well as the Addis Ababa City Administration

FIDO is seeking a dynamic and experienced Resource Mobilization Director to lead the organization’s efforts in securing financial resources that support our mission of empowering communities and driving sustainable development in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy for FIDO.
  • Identify and establish relationships with potential donors, including international agencies, foundations, corporate partners, and government entities.
  • Lead proposal development, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns to meet the financial goals of the organization.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with existing donors, ensuring continued support and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising performance, ensuring the effective allocation and utilization of funds.
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on resource mobilization, including risk management and new funding opportunities.
  • Stay informed on sectoral trends and donor priorities to inform strategic decisions.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Executive Director

 

About You

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in international development, Health, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in resource mobilization or fundraising in non-profit organizations, with a proven track record of securing significant funding.
  • Strong knowledge of international donor requirements and the Ethiopian development landscape.
  • Demonstrated experience in proposal writing, grant management, and donor relations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of different Ethiopian languages is an advantage.
