About the Ethiopian Red Cross Society
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 15 Regional Offices, Zonal Branches and District/Woreda Branches, Woreda Red Cross Committee and Kebele Red Cross committees.
ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs relating to food security, climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and institutional capacity building interventions, with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. ERCS works in partnership with the Ethiopian Government, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), partnering National Societies, members, volunteers and the communities we serve.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Program management and Resource Mobilization Manager(PM&RM) Senior Resource Mobilization Expert prepare plans implements the resource development and mobilization activities of the regional branch; aligns the income stream development and expansion activities of the region with the strategic plan of the Society, implements the resource development, mobilization and utilization policies of the Society, plans and implements fundraising events, donation and support solicitation efforts, provide technical support to zonal branches, create close contact with relevant regional authorities and, CSOs, business organizations to raise resource, and achieve the regions objective with this respect.
Key role and Responsibilities:
- Prepares Plans, and implements the resource development and mobilization activities of the regional branch
- Implements the implementation of Resource Development, Mobilization and Utilization policies, strategies and procedures the Society;
- implements fundraising events, donation and support solicitation efforts
- Reviews and evaluates the feasibility and performance of the Region’s income generating schemes and provides technical backup on sustainability of the schemes to Zonal and Woreda branch offices;
- Initiates income generation schemes that have regional context based on the Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) for IGAs set by the HQ;
- Creates close contacts and facilitates resource mobilization from regional sources;
- Develops the capacity and coordinates the efforts of zonal branches in resource mobilization and utilization;
- Facilitates and creates relationship with public and private partners to mobilize resources;
- Facilitates inter zonal investment and resource mobilization efforts;
- Provide accurate data on all income generating resources under the domain of the branch office;
- Study and proposes new IGA and fundraising activities for approval and implements the same;
- Coordinates and follows up the collection of donation and other resources given to the branch.
- Gives recommendations to PM&RM Manager on the fate of income generating/resources mobilization schemes that are not well functioning as set by the ERCS National Office;
- Ensures that IGAs fulfill their obligations on issues of national concern as directed by the NS
- ·Expand options and opportunities for generating resources targeting regional governments, the private sector and corporate bodies;
- Study and propose to strengthen emerging and existing income generating activities in the region to encourage self-financing sources;
- Reports periodically the performance of the work unit to the Regional Head and PM and RM Manager
- Consolidates both financial and physical performance reports/data of the Branch’s Resource Development and Mobilization activities and submits the same to the PM & RM Manager
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the regional Head.

Educational Requirement and Experiences
Educational required:
- Second/First Degree in Business Development, Economics, Management, Marketing, Regional and Local Development Studies and
Work Experience: – 6/8 years’ relevant experience
- Time management
- Effective communication and sociability
