Job Description
Job Summary:
The Technical Site Coordinator serves as the central facilitator for the UP-WOMEN Project at the city administration level. Their mission? To ensure girls and young women gain access to education, vocational training, employment, and empowerment opportunities through collaboration with local stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Planning & Awareness-Raising:
- Lead community outreach via campaigns and door-to-door promotion
- Identify disadvantaged youth for participation through inclusive targeting
- Engage role models as change agents to inspire and mobilize youth
- Help girls develop personalized growth plans
2. Training, Solidarity Groups & Linkages:
- Connect girls/young women to TVETs and IFAL centers
- Monitor training quality and relevance
- Form and support youth solidarity groups for dialogue, savings, and enterprise development
- Deliver life skills, gender, and SRH (Sexual and Reproductive Health) awareness sessions
3. Employment & Mentorship:
- Facilitate internships, job placements, and self-employment initiatives
- Mentor youth in entrepreneurship and financial inclusion
- Engage with private/public sectors to align training with market demands
4. Monitoring, Reporting & Learning:
- Track progress, compile data, and produce reports
- Organize reflection forums to share lessons and success stories
- Collaborate with stakeholders like youth bureaus, education, health offices, and training providers
5. Gender Equity Focus:
- Ensure training and programs are gender-transformative
- Promote equal access to services, finance, and markets
- Advocate for empowerment and inclusion at every level.
About You
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Community Development, Rural Development, Business Education, Business Administration, Developmental Psychology, Economics, and related courses.
Work Experience
- At least four years’ experience working with coordinating and facilitating development intervention.
- Experience in TVET and youth employment.
- Strong experience in Business/Entrepreneurship interventions among urban youth populations.
- Prior experience in working with local youth organizations and businesses in the private sector.
Competencies and Other Requirements
- Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and manage time well
- Familiarity with TVET, Life skill training, Adult literacy program, Sexual Reproductive Health, gender
- Excellent command of the local language OROMO Language / Afan Oromo
- Capable of riding motorcycle and have motorbike license.
