Light for the World is a global disability and development organization. We empower people with disabilities and enable eye health services in low-income countries. Over the last three decades, we have improved health systems, enabled education for all, and amplified the voices of people with disabilities.

- Inclusive Economic Empowerment – ensuring that barriers are removed for men and women with disabilities to access decent work.
We Can Work Programme Brief
The We Can Work program will improve access to dignified and fulfilling work for 1,000,000 young women and men with disabilities in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria, and Senegal over eight years (2023 – 2030).
The program will further employ targeted skills-building and entrepreneurship support interventions for young women and men with disabilities to successfully transition to work.
Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to enhance the employability of youth with disabilities by providing comprehensive training, including modules on job search and networking, crafting professional profile, workplace etiquette, resume and cover letter development, as well as interview skills. The training will be conducted in Addis Ababa. The Inclusive Employment Officer and the Employability Consultant will collaborate to deliver these trainings. The inclusion of an Employability Consultant is crucial as they bring specialized expertise in employability training, career coaching, and human resources. This expertise ensures that participants receive high-quality, tailored guidance that directly addresses their individual needs and enhances their prospects in the job market. The consultant’s role is pivotal in providing personalized feedback, conducting mock interviews, and delivering practical training, all of which are essential for achieving the program’s objectives effectively.
Scope of Work
The selected employability training service provider will be responsible for the following:
Job search and networking
- Conduct Resume and Letter Writing training sessions through
- Conduct Interview Skills training sessions through
- Workplace Etiquette
Feeling safe in the workplace
Expected Outputs and Deliverables
The expected outputs and deliverables for the training program include the development of comprehensive training materials, which consist of presentation slides based on the provided modules, as well as templates for resumes and cover letters. A toolkit featuring sample resumes, cover letters, and interview preparation guides to support participants. The training sessions will be conducted in Addis Ababa, targeting participants from both Addis Ababa and Wolayita, and will include mock interview sessions to enhance practical skills. support to help participants achieve their goals.
Duration
The consultancy will take place with an estimated commitment of 8 days.
About You
Qualification and Experiences
- Proven experience in providing employability training.
- Professionals with a background in human resources management and a specific focus on employability training and career coaching are in demand. With over five years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of resume and cover letter writing, as well as interview preparation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and tailor support to individual participant needs.
Preferred experience working with persons with disabilities.
Desirable: Previous experience conducting similar training for persons with disabilities, demonstrating an understanding of inclusive content delivery methodologies.
Criteria for selecting the best offer
The consultancy firm shall provide technical and financial proposals including the following:
- Description of the consultants, incl. CVs of the suggested team members.
- The technical proposal will include an introduction, work, an understanding of the TOR, clear consultancy work objectives, scope of work, deliverables, methodologies, and approach, work plan, Team composition, Profile of consultancy firm, and other relevant information.
- A detailed approach and methodology for achieving the goal of the assignment.
- A detailed schedule incl. steps to be taken and responsibilities of team members.
- Statement of availability for conducting the assignment.
- Financial offer, incl. professional fees, incl. taxes, and incidentals.

Interested consultancy firm that meet the required qualifications, and experience should submit their technical and financial proposals within 3 days effective from the advertisement date of this TOR in person at the address mentioned below. their technical proposal &Financial proposal should be sealed by
separate envelope ONE Original and ONE Copy enclosed in one outer Envelope by mentioning the title: “Financial Proposal-Original/Copy” & “Technical Proposal-Original/Copy “Light for the World may require proof of similar experience in the form of previous reports and/or references during the selection process. Individual Consultants will be evaluated based on Cumulative Analysis as per the following scenario:
Responsive/compliant/acceptable, and
Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation.
In this regard, the respective weight of the proposals are:
- The financial proposal should be submitted in detail separately in local currency (ETB)
- technical proposals should include all components listed above.
- The winner will be determined after completion of evaluation of both the Financial & Technical proposals,
- which will be done by the ENA’s Bid evaluation committee, and automatically be notified
Biding documents submitted after the closure of the bid shall not be accepted.
