Job Description

About the EYWM Program:

The Enabling Young Women and Men to Find Dignified and Fulfilling Work in Manufacturing (EYWM) Program is committed to fostering the development and growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across five key subsectors: Agro and Food Processing, Textile and Garment, Solid Waste Management, Handicrafts, and Leather. Operating in strategic locations—Bahir Dar, Mekelle, Hawassa, Addis Ababa, and Dire Dawa program is committed to building the capacity of SMEs to sustainably create new jobs and improve existing ones. It also aims to enhance Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) offerings to better prepare women and youth for workforce entry and facilitate their transition from school to work.

Additionally, the program works to establish a robust financial ecosystem that enables SMEs to access tailored financial services, supporting their growth and fostering employment opportunities. As a result, the program will enhance the lives of approximately 240,000 young people (80% women and 10% marginalized groups) aged 15–35 in Ethiopia’s manufacturing sector. As part of our commitment to empower young people and ensure their active involvement in program implementation and policy advocacy, we are seeking passionate and committed young individuals to join our Youth Advisory Group (YAG).

Why we need YAG?

Youth Advisory Groups (YAG) are crucial tools to interact with youth and make sure that their ideas and perspectives are heard. A YAG offers insightful opinions and viewpoints from young people, who are the program’s target audience. The YAG provides young people a platform to express their viewpoints, offer feedback, and influence the direction of the EYWM program. Through their participation, members will actively engage in program decision-making, monitor the selection of SMEs, and support the overall success of the initiative.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a member of the YAG, you will be expected to:

  • Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions regarding program implementation.
  • Provide valuable feedback and suggestions to ensure the program benefits young women and men.
  • Monitor activities and support the selection of SMEs.
  • Engage in networking, mentorship, and resource access opportunities.
